Dryer Drive Motor – Maytag, Whirlpool
Safety first: unplug the dryer before servicing, and have a qualified technician handle this installation. Motor replacement involves electrical connections and moving parts.
The drive motor spins the dryer drum and powers the blower. When it fails, the drum may not turn, the motor may hum or squeal, or the dryer may stop mid-cycle and restart only after cooling down. This 1/3 HP motor is a direct replacement for the original motor. Not for use on "D" shaft applications.
