GE UNIVFLT Universal Flat Oven Igniter with 18-Inch Lead Wire

Get your gas oven heating reliably again with this genuine OEM GE universal flat igniter, part number UNIVFLT. Featuring an 18-inch lead wire for versatile installation, this silicon nitride flat-style igniter provides fast, consistent ignition for gas oven burners. The igniter draws current to open the gas safety valve and ignite the burner. A weakened igniter cannot draw enough current, causing the oven to fail to heat or take excessively long to preheat.

Key Features

  • Genuine OEM GE universal replacement igniter
  • Flat silicon nitride design for faster ignition
  • 18-inch lead wire for flexible installation
  • Universal fit for many gas oven models
  • Compatible with GE, GE Profile, Hotpoint, and other brands

Common Symptoms This Part Fixes

  • Gas oven not heating
  • Oven takes too long to preheat
  • Igniter glows but oven does not light
  • No glow from igniter
  • Weak or intermittent oven ignition

Installation

Disconnect power and turn off gas supply. Remove oven racks and the bottom oven panel. Locate the igniter adjacent to the burner tube. Disconnect the wire connector from the old igniter. Remove the mounting screws and carefully remove the old igniter without touching the new element with bare hands. Install the new flat igniter and secure with mounting screws. Reconnect the wire connector. Replace the bottom panel and racks. Restore gas and power. Test the oven to verify proper ignition.
